Pigeon Valley is a picturesque maze of exceptional rock formations, cave dwellings and a distant volcano. The diverse terrain, which seems like it comes from another planet, stretches for miles between Göreme and Uçhisar. Take a break midway through your hike at a charming café in the middle of the valley.

"The Smallgoods emerged rosy-cheeked from western Victoria a few years back with a bunch of unaffected nostalgic pop songs and fun-filled live set. Two albums followed, granting minor national airplay, as well as a host of domestic support slots mixed with touring alongside international acts such as Ben Kweller, the Shins and Iron & Wine.

The first single from the album, "Traipse Through the Valley", is a harmony-drenched rollicking folk number, a galloping ride in the countryside with just a hint of something evil lurking in the woods nearby. Recording for Down on the Farm began in with a recording grant from Arts Victoria.

The album features a rotating cast of guest artists, including Shannon Lay, Laura Kelsey plus members of The Make-Up, The Shivas, and Moaning. The video for single “Disaster (Is What We’re After)” featured the legendary Iggy Pop eating a hamburger. Death Valley Girls are set to embark on a lengthy UK and European tour starting in February.
